Integrating Vision with Pediatrics

This course highlights the vital role of vision in childhood development and functional participation. Participants will explore the impact of visual efficiency and processing on learning, play, and daily routines, while learning to recognize key signs that may indicate visual inefficiencies in children. The course provides practical guidance on screenings and assessments tailored for pediatric populations, along with tips to enhance the evaluation process and collaboration with parents and caregivers. Treatment considerations are discussed in depth, supported by a wide range of creative, developmentally appropriate activity examples designed to promote visual skill development and engagement. Attendees will leave with a deeper understanding of how to integrate vision-based strategies into pediatric practice to support optimal growth and functional outcomes. This course includes approximately one hour of lecture along with several downloadable handouts.
