The 3 Component Model of Vision

This comprehensive course provides an in-depth exploration of visual efficiency and its essential role in concussion and neurorehabilitation. Participants will review optometric diagnoses and gain a detailed understanding of the visual system through the three-component model of visual integrity, visual efficiency (vergence and accommodation), and visual information processing. The course emphasizes practical application through demonstrations and guided examples, including assessment techniques, treatment approaches, and the integration of lenses and prisms (where permitted by state regulations and in collaboration with optometrists). Attendees will also learn strategies for implementing effective home exercise programs and explore a variety of remediation tools, games, and activities that support recovery.
