Trauma Informed Care in Concussion Recovery

This course explores the intersection of trauma-informed care (TIC) and concussion management, emphasizing the need for a compassionate, person-centered approach in rehabilitation. Participants will gain an understanding of the principles of TIC and how they can be applied to support individuals recovering from concussion. Through examination of the neurobiological and psychological impacts of concussion, attendees will learn strategies to integrate TIC principles into assessment and intervention. The course also includes case study analyses to identify effective trauma-informed strategies and concludes with discussion on future directions for research and clinical practice in this emerging area. This course consists of approximately one hour of lecture.
